Man oh man. Michelle makes us hopeful for our country, exuding so much style and elegance. This sequined, strapless gown is by Peter Soronen and the show stopping necklace is none other than Tom Binns. Tom is famous for his vintage mixes of pearls and punk and while we adore the Irish, maybe there’s an American designer that is manufacturing the same esthetic. It takes a little more work to ferret out local talent but hey, our economic survival is at stake. We believe this dress is made in the USA.

Peter Soronen Brocade Dress

The original design didn’t have the protruding ruffle at the neckline. Ok, we like the modesty factor but a different fix would have been better.  The designer, Peter Soronen, could have whipped up one of his famous corsets that would have fit better than this loosey goosey in the shoulders. Purchased in Chicago but made where???
