The fashion business can be alot like the music business. You can become an overnight sensation but only after years of plugging away doing what you love. This is certainly true of Isabel Toledo who presented her first collection in 1985. This ensemble looks pretty normal for this avant garde designer but maybe the First lady will take bigger fashion risks after she’s settled into the White House. Ms. Toledo is a true artist so it’s no surprise she parted ways with Anne Klein and the corporate Jones Apparel Group that owns the brand. Isabel was born in Cuba and we don’t know what year she came to the US but she supports her adopted country by manufacturing her designs here in America.
